Brother of the Month

This month’s notable brother is Richie Pohl, a Theta Chi senior from St. Charles, MO. Pohl attended Francis Howell High School and is a member of the 2013 pledge class, set to graduate with degrees in Finance and Real Estate this December. This past summer, Pohl was a subaccounting intern at DST Systems in Kansas City, MO, and he plans on returning to St. Louis to work after he graduates. Managing the workload of such degrees is no easy task, making free time hard to come by but easy for Pohl to enjoy.

“One of my favorite past times is definitely hanging with my best buds Joe, Litty, Riley and KP at my house playing Xbox or watching something tight.”

Pohl is not the only member of his St. Charles household to attend MU— he follows in the footsteps of his mom and both of his older sisters, having planned to go here his entire life.

On campus, Pohl has made a considerable impact on the recent success of Theta Chi, acting as one of three head homecoming liaisons this fall. Pohl’s responsibilities included aiding in the appointments of assistant liaison positions, and ensuring all Homecoming responsibilities across the board were fulfilled while designing house decorations, props and the like. Pohl’s daily schedule consisted of managing the house’s homecoming schedule to make sure everything was performed in a timely fashion— a job that became more strenuous as deadlines reigned in and Homecoming approached.

“What we all did would not have been possible without the help of Zach Smith and Cole Stoeckline, the other head liaisons. I was really proud of how we placed and of all the hard work that everyone in the house put into homecoming.”

Despite the challenging position he assumed throughout the process, Pohl thoroughly enjoyed the entire process.

“Getting to know the ladies of Kappa Delta and the guys in our house better was my favorite aspect about Homecoming.”

Pohl believes the new house has been a great addition for the chapter, providing a lot more opportunities for brotherhood events and a place to become more involved in things like Homecoming especially.

Every member of the Theta Chi house sincerely appreciates Richie’s efforts throughout Homecoming, but more importantly his acts as a great addition to the chapter since his initiation several years ago— with the best of wishes as he enters the workforce back home in St. Louis.
