This past week, the Xi class of the Theta Chi, Iota Mu chapter was solidified. We are excited to see these 16 men develop this semester, and see them become apart of an incredible brotherhood. Chris Wooten, Iota Mu's recruitment chair, is excited about the potential of the men of the Xi class saying, "I believe we picked up a great group of guys that have unlimited potential in what they can do for Theta Chi as well as what Theta Chi can bring to them as individuals."
Wooten has put together a diverse group of guys from places such as Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Houston, and even Boston. The backgrounds and interests of these men are very diverse. JB Heath, for instance, is a member of the Army ROTC program here at Mizzou. Some guys have interest in athletics like Ryan Hutson, who was the most decorated soccer player at his High School in St. Charles, Missouri. Furthermore, there are guys like Billy Auffenberg, a licensed pilot, who have very unique hobbies like aviation.
"I can't wait to get to know these guys better. We all come from different places, and like different things." -Owen Speh, member of Xi Class
These men have the potential to be great additions to the Iota Mu chapter; however, they too believe that Theta Chi is a great addition to their lives to better enhance their future at Mizzou. Joe Frescura points to Iota Mu's camaraderie as something that excites him saying, "I was very impressed by the brotherhood aspect of the house." Several guys have already begun participating in intramural sports, and have quickly gotten involved within the fraternity. With Greek Week coming up in the near future the Xi class will have a great opportunity to continue to contribute to the fraternity, and enhance their college experience in the process.
"I want to be always looking for ways to better myself as a man and I believe that Theta Chi can do that for me." -Conner McDermott, member of Xi class
Overall, this group of guys is an exciting class, and has great potential to contribute great things to the Iota Mu chapter. Their understanding and eagerness to develop as men and contribute to this fraternity will only enhance their college experience, as well as their experience with Theta Chi.
