I shall do all in my power to perpetuate its ideals, thereby serving my God, my country, and my fellow man.

Ellis Fischel Cancer Center

bowling for breast cancer

Four years ago, we signed a pledge to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center to raise $15,000 to build a chemotherapy station and support fundraising for a new "Mamm Van," a mobile mammography center that uses 3-D breast scanning technology to provide life-saving screening for women in need. We are proud to say that, as of this year, that van has been completed and is now doing great work across mid-Missouri. Despite its completion, we fully intend to meet our full $15,000 goal. To meet that goal, every Spring, we hold a Bowling for Breast Cancer fundraiser.

Cassidy-rae Luebbering

Accessible bathroom fund

We were introduced to the Luebbering family over a year ago through our involvement with MizzouThon. Their daughter, Cassidy-Rae, born premature and diagnosed with cerebral palsy, became our sponsored Miracle Child. Since then, our relationship has only grown closer. The Luebberings invite our brothers for dinner, for birthdays, for Christmas gifts, and more. The best way we could think to give back to them and their wonderful daughter was to establish a fund for a wheelchair accessible bathroom in the Luebberings' home. Although that bathroom has been completed this year (thanks to a lot of hard work and some generous donors), our relationship with Cassidy-Rae and her delightful family is far from over.

United service organizations

Hot Chocolate for the troops

Theta Chi has a proud military tradition beginning with its founders and extending to the present day through the service of many of its members. With that tradition in mind, in 2013, Theta Chi Fraternity announced a national partnership with USO. Last semester, we raised several hundred dollars for the organization and plan to raise much more in the future.

To support our armed services and USO directly, feel free to donate here.

Operation military red

it’s all gravy with biscuits and gravy

During the Fall of 2018, we held a country concert in our parking garage with the wonderful performance of the band Biscuits and Gravy. Although the weather was not in our favor, the turnout for the event was fantastic with a delicious food truck available. But with the tickets sold, we were able to raise over $11,000 towards the United Service Organization (USO), placing first overall in funds raised out of all Theta Chi chapters, and tied for third in hours served with 250.

mizzou greek life community

As members of our wonderful Greek community at Mizzou, we pride ourselves on our community service. Many of our friends in other Greek organizations do the same, and offer many opportunities for us to support great causes. Last year, we participated in Kappa Kappa Gamma's Kappa Klassic, Gamma Phi Beta's Crescent Classic, Zeta Tau Alpha's Bumpin' For Breast Cancer, and many more. We even placed first in Delta Delta Delta's Sincerely Yours letter-writing campaign.

If you’re want to involve Theta Chi in your philanthropy event, contact Carter Barajas at cjbywc@mail.missouri.edu or (816) 674-0168.
